I'm sure you, like everyone else who takes an interest, will be well aware that many people stopped posting on the other forum when Julian Haines (noddingdino) decided to take it upon himself to issue guidelines for an event that had absolutely nothing to do with him, or anyone else at Julian Haines for that matter, other than anyone who took part in the event. Many, many people seen this as an attempt to try to take over the event, along with 1 or 2 of his Moderators who also started to "get their bit in" and thought they were, for some strange reason, a part of the decision-making process of this event. I stood my ground over this for myself, the charity we support, and every single person involved in the event. The outcome was I was banned from that forum, and not only that, it was a life ban. My God you dont even hear of things like this in the workplace! Verbal warning, 1st written warning, etc, etc, etc?
It certainly did'nt help when a Moderator at Julian Haines was taking posts of mine from a private thread and sending them out to members asking them to "poll" their thoughts and then this Moderator denied all knowledge of this! The people who informed me of this underhand action obviously felt very aggrieved. I've heard many are also disappointed that votes cast for myself in the Forum Personality Awards were ignored, not that I'm in the least bit bothered about such a triviality. However, others feel its a farcical situation.
Thats my honest opinion in reply to your statement mate and everything above is fact.

I agree with you - since it is clear the event is now in our own hands, as it has always been, things will never be the same. Especially since Julian Haines withdrew their support of the event.
I have this in writing and also their reason for withdrawing, which IMO is very, very poor.

Much prefer the stupidity options in here alongside some serious topics, but regional elements are a let down.

yes very true the numbers have fallen greatly since december hopefully it will begin to pick up as it is a good forum just need the members attending it more often
